Pikes Peak

Ok, so anyone who is anyone about motor sport should recognize the Title to this post.  Its one of the most technically difficult hill climbs in the world.  Although not as tough as it used to be, when there were no paved roads.  It does not take away from the sheer driving skills required to make it to the top of that peak in under 10 minutes.

Below is a copy of that run, just watch how fast everything rushes up to the camera on the car.  Now that is a true driving skill

What goes wrong when you miscalculate

To me hil climbs like this are the absolute top of motor sport, you need extreme skill, the right car and a lot of luck to take the record.  F1 is for all intent and purpose a flat track so smooth a billiard ball would roll around.  WRC is hard stuff but nothing like the hill climb.
