Its Time

Image
Well its time.  Time for my fathers car to leave me for good.  It has been the second worst car I have ever owned and if you knew the worst that is a huge statement.  Everything that could break has and top off the $1000 service at 100,000kms and I have lost all interest in this car. HSV Clubsport R8 Last night we helped friends move house, and I was lucky enough to get a ride in a highly modified HSV Clubsport R8.  It reminded me of what I had given up the chance of having and by this morning I was looking at the Mitsubishi with some loathing.  I wont get much for it and I dont have a lot to add to it to get another car right at the moment.  But I want to buy a car that I can modify, and of course a V8.  I like the idea of a Holden Statesman have owned one in the past and they are an awesome vehicle if not a little on the large side.  Has all the creature comforts including the bigger seats and more legroom.  Top that off with a high...

O Fortuna Excalibur Remix

Hi all, Well today is about music and insane things that i have done in the past and I would do again in a heartbeat.  As I have stated in other posts I have owned some serious muscle when it comes to cars. Don't be fooled into thinking I didn't know how to drive them.  Far from it in fact, had professional race driving instruction and did test driving for a Ford Mustang race team.  I certainly know how to handle horsepower.  Most people drive cars by what the gauges tell you they are happy to cruise along quietly. For me its more than that, I become apart of the car as my concentration levels lift, I feel everything, every bump every vibration.  I come alive.  There is nothing quite like driving through each gear with the foot flat to the floor.  Flat changing with no lift off at all, to put a car onto 2 wheels with the harness biting at your body. You are literally on the edge .  The  heat the noise the smells, its a fantastic place t...

Changing Cars

Not the most in depth post ever but, considering I try to do this often. I do know quite a bit about it. I have owned a lot of cars in my life but have loved very few of them.  Two cars stand out for me but for two completely different reasons. First of the stand outs was a Ford AUIII TS50 Tickford Falcon.   I got this brand new and in black,  It was an amazing car, so damn quick it make your head snap back and forward as you went from braking to acceleration.  5.7Ltr Injected V8 last of the Windsor engines in Australia.  I loved it, you really had a road presence, overtaking could be terrifying should you plant the right foot to hard.  From 80Kms/hr to 140Kims/hr was done in under a car length.  With the manualised automatic it was something to be feared.  I had owned a HSV before hand and it was a complete bucket of crud in comparison.  The Ford ate it in every important category.  Had quite a few mates who were Holden fans th...
