Printers Again

Hey all, been a little while since I did an update on the CISS system I have installed on my primary network. I have an epson workforces 840, with wireless networking.  I purchased this printer because of its ability to duplex on the fly and to auto scan and fax.  To be honest its an amazing printer, we regularly print border less A4 photos off this machine, and we have them up all over the house.  To put it simply the CISS has made this a real possibility.  If I was paying for standard cartridges or even refills there is no way we could have afforded to print the number that we have. It really came into its own when a customer required full color hand outs for a promotion they were doing.  We printed a couple thousand of these and the CISS made it very cheap to do. The savings are great.  The whole CISS system including inks with the kit were around $100, I only purchased refills a month ago.  For $100 I have 2 full fill ups ...

Loving the Printer with CISS

Just an update to the previous post about CISS and printer choice.  I installed the CISS last week and I have to admit I cant tell the difference with the print at all.  The install was relatively simple, they provided a youtube link for install CISS on my printer model. It works well the only obvious thing about the printer that would give away that I am using  a CISS system is that the lid of my printer is open about 4mm to allow the feeder tube through.  If I was going to choose a printer next time I would get one with a stationary ink cartridge system, just a little simpler again. Other than that I love it done some heavy printing and it copes no worries at all.  I just took a great printer and made it fantastic.  One very happy customer. Give it a go its well worth it.

Considering buying a new printer... Some things you should know.

So considering buying a new printer.   Think it should be easy, just buy whatever is on special at the local store ?  That decision could cost you hundreds extra over the life of your printer. These days printer companies have made their latest model printers cheap to buy.  I have seen locally inkjet multifunction printers for as little as $45.00.  You say what a bargain, a brand new printer for $45.00. When a printer ships to the store they have first run ink cartridges these are typically less than 50% full.  So you don't get a full set of ink when the printer is new.  The companies do this to get you to buy new ink as soon as possible.  Now this is when you see the full cost of owning the new printer.  Cartridges vary in price, but you can be sure that a black ink could set you back $50.00 (example) .  Hang on you say that's more than the cost of the printer.  Yes it is.  Now if you have a single color cartridges these...
