The Diet a Month in.

Image
Hey all, decided I should drop by and give you an update on the weight loss, and how its progressing. The 28th of this month saw a full month of weight loss under my belt, and me still steadfastly dedicated to seeing this through.  I have had the odd weak moment when, I think why should I bother any more, and I will admit that in the middle of last week I had a weak moment while I was out and ordered a burger. But what they say is true, falling off the horse isn't a bad thing as long as you get back on, and I did that alright.  Although it slowed my weight loss down quite a bit, things soon swung back into the groove.  My daily losses are not as consistent now, I have the odd couple days that I see no net loss, but overall I am still loosing nearly 1 Kg (2.2 pounds) for every 6 days I am dieting,  This is by far a more sustainable weight loss amount than that of the first couple of weeks. I'm down under 116 Kgs (255.7 pounds)  and still moving downwards. I have lost

Kids and Planes

Hey all, reading yet another article about kids disturbing others on planes, and the inability of airlines to do anything about it. http://www.news.com.au/travel/news/man-booted-off-plane-after-kid-kicks-seat/story-e6frfq80-1226559163563 I have had similar things where kids kicking seats me etc over the years and parents not wanting to do anything about it. The worst occasion happened on a regional flight from Sydney to Albury in NSW.  Three children were on the flight with no adult supervision.  15 minutes into the flight they were out of control, yelling screaming and running around the cabin.  The flight attendent did her best to keep them settled and was in constant communication with the pilot. Then it happened.  One of the boys grabbed hold of the emergency mask panel and pulled it down, breaking the panel and exposing electrical wires on the plane.  The attendant was next to me when it happened.  I turned to her and said, its my turn if thats ok with you ?  I got up and

Does no one have respect

Hi again, another news article that has gotten under my skin, see link below; http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/national/nsw-police-hunt-for-cenotaph-vandals/story-e6frfku9-1226557224573 Can you believe these low life scum.  Have they no concept of what its even for.  Or are they just so self centered that they don't care who they offend. No respect at all.  They should do something nasty like 10 years behind bars for such an offence, its simply not good enough.

Here we go again.

Ok before I start yet another rant please read the article at the link below http://www.news.com.au/world/hooded-men-called-muslim-patrol-confiscate-alcohol-and-demand-women-cover-up-in-london/story-fndir2ev-1226556639724 All I can say is what a load of crap.  It angers me to the point of violence that these people who have come from other places in the world, feel they have a right to turn their new home into the old one they left. Again Muslim men parading around and bullying locals and telling white people to piss off.  These people are becoming more and more the norm, why do we tolerate such stupidity.  If the men want to live like that go back to where you came from. We in the west take our freedom seriously.  I would  like to see them try that shit on me, I would personally make sure none of them were breathing afterwards.  Another kick in the guts from those who pretend to like us.  When will we learn that they have one goal to convert us all by force is necessary. OK

For all of those who think the the USA's time in the sun is over, that the world order she helped set is done, then you need to see what your up against. http://www.foxnews.com/tech/slideshow/2013/01/09/military-tech-in-action/?intcmp=features#slide=1 Don't ever doubt the USA has the will, the technical know how and the sheer might to take on any and all who dare threaten her.  The photo's are impressive to say the least. I leave you with one thought.  The United States is the only nation on earth that field's Super Carriers the penultimate Military machine. Dream on China. Oh yeah I would love a B1B Lancer as a toy in my back yard :)

Diet Update 1

Hi all.  As per previous post, im dieting to lose around 30kgs. This morning is day 8 and I have lost 6.7 kgs so far.  Its been interesting and the temptations to brake the diet have been immense.  I have stuck with it knowing that today would be my reward day. The concept of reward day is that you can eat and drink what you would like for the day.  In the past this has been wicked for me, I dont lose any weight for a day or two then it goes straight back into the pattern.  Its pretty cool to be honest. Back to the diet tomorrow and 100kgs here I come

Linux Mint Cinnamon

OK another tech post.  About 7 weeks ago, I embarked on a mission to find a windows replacement desktop, one the works straight out of the box.  A operating system that is easy to set-up and doesn't require a computing degree or to use command prompts. For Linux editions this has pretty much been impossible.  I have tried most of the standard offering such as Ubuntu, Fedora, PC-BSD, etc and had issues with sound, printing, Skype and flash to mention a few.  Ubuntu has always been a strong contender, especially in the Kubuntu derivative. Now my PC is no monster with lots of specialist drivers required, I use a standard ASUS motherboard and an AMD CPU.  You would expect that most of the offerings would cope adequately with what I have but that is not the case. Linux still has to pull its finger out and get the basics right before they go redesigning the desktop, it seems stupid to me to get a user to use a new desktop when  not everything works out of the box.  Its also not goo

Food a complex relationship

First of all, Happy New Years, glad to see you all still around. The day after boxing day, I started in earnest on a diet.  I know I have tried this multiple times over the past year, but I am doing well, having lost 5 Kgs so far. Trust me this is far from easy, food and the comfort it brings me, makes for a very complex relationship.  You see when I was in my early 20's I was blond haired blue eyed, built guy with the 6 pack and huge chest.  I did a couple of modeling shoots as well.  I had made the commitment to fitness and health.  But it all changed for me.  The reasons are complex and at the time I made a myriad of excuses as to why I let myself go.  Mostly it was the repression of my attraction to men, I didnt see why I should look after myself if I had to live the way I did.  Over time eating badly and not exercising became habit, but it became more than that. It became a comfort when I was unwell, and at the same time made me unhappy. I went from one failed relati
