Do you feel it to ?

I know this may sound a little strange, and it certainly is a strange post to have as my 100th post on this blog.  But in the last two weeks something has changed.  People are more aggravated, short fused with others, and overtly aggressive.  Its like there is an undercurrent of pressure that is building.  I know around here everyone seems on edge but when asked why they have no idea.  Though they do recognize the change. Whats your thoughts people ?  Do you feel it or is it just an Aussie thing ?

Is anything Possible

Image
Interesting question  hey.  What do you believe, do you believe it in its true meaning that anything is possible and I mean anything.  Or do you subscribe that there will always be some limitation to how much we as humans can do. My response to this question as per usual is not as straight forward as it sounds.  You see I need to tie another concept to this and that is one of destiny.  I believe that anything is possible anything can happen if its destined to be so.  Now I know that sounds like a cop out but its not.  You see great men have achieved the impossible but it was their destiny to do so. Winston with his V for Victory Salute. Cigar in mouth of course The Prime example was an old man, who smoked cigars and drank to much, never even looked like he was destined to power.  I  am of course talking about Winston Churchill.  He was a man of destiny, everything in his past lead him to that point.  Then he did the impossible, he retrieved all those men from Dunkirk, and fough

Song has new meaning

Isn't it amazing how sometimes old songs can take on new meanings, sometimes decades after they were written.  Some of you probably realize that I am a bit of a Hard Rock/Metal fan.  Couple of days ago I stumbled across a 100 video Megadeth playlist, and spent the next day and a half headbanging like I had long hair.  Any way I thought the lyrics for their song Foreclosure of a Dream Have included the video below. Lyrics as follows Rise so high, yet so far to fall A plan of dignity and balance for all Political breakthrough, euphoria's high More borrowed money, more borrowed time Backed in a corner, caught up in the race Means to an end ended in disgrace Perspective is lost in the spirit of the chase Chorus Foreclosure of a dream Those visions never seen Until all is lost Personal Holocaust Foreclosure of a dream Barren land that once filled a need Are worthless now, dead without a deed Slipping away from an iron grip Nature's scales are forced to tip The heartland

Thank you Everyone

Hi guys, we passed a landmark this week sometime with over 2000 page  views.  Just wanted to thank those who have subscribed and the big group of lurkers out there,  Yes you know who you are. Another milestone coming also, it will be me 100th post.  Not sure what I will post about but I am sure it will come to me out of nowhere like they usually do. Thanks all

O Fortuna Excalibur Remix

Hi all, Well today is about music and insane things that i have done in the past and I would do again in a heartbeat.  As I have stated in other posts I have owned some serious muscle when it comes to cars. Don't be fooled into thinking I didn't know how to drive them.  Far from it in fact, had professional race driving instruction and did test driving for a Ford Mustang race team.  I certainly know how to handle horsepower.  Most people drive cars by what the gauges tell you they are happy to cruise along quietly. For me its more than that, I become apart of the car as my concentration levels lift, I feel everything, every bump every vibration.  I come alive.  There is nothing quite like driving through each gear with the foot flat to the floor.  Flat changing with no lift off at all, to put a car onto 2 wheels with the harness biting at your body. You are literally on the edge .  The  heat the noise the smells, its a fantastic place to be.  There is nothing quite like i

A World of Color and Design

Hi all; you may have noticed a minor change to the website, I kind of like it but not 100% sure its the right thing. Feel free to leave your comments

I feel a wee scotch .

Image
Hmm.  Now as anyone who knows me will tell you, I have a bit of a weak spot for the brown spirit that is Scotch.  But a bit more than that, if its a single malt, made by the ocean, and aged accordingly I will consume it with a pleasure that is nearly unnatural. So today, we are at the liquor store and I came across these. They were well presented and a good mixture of labels.  The bottles are small, just enough for a couple drinks.  On the rocks of course, no mixers here. Bottles as follows: Glenkinchie Aged 12 Years. Bright Gold, the nose aromatic and flowery overall, like breathing in a country garden. Vanilla and fresh citrus notes.  Light bodied. A sweet, scented, creamy taste, with lemon cheesecake and floral notes, smoothly giving way to a drying herbal finish with a soft and mellow afterglow. Dalwhinnie Aged 15 Years A crisp dry and very aromatic nose with hints of heather and peat. Golden, light to medium bodied. Smooth and last flavours of heather, hone

Its about Faith

Todays post was inspired by Sharon at Jeweling the Elephant . She recently made a post called Everyday - Grace is Gone.    In it she talks about the comfort others have in their faith and how she envy's that. I to have issues with faith, in my younger days I was a strong believer in God and his church, I believed in the teachings and how to apply it to your daily life.  But things changed.  I changed.  It all started when I was about 16.  My close friends father committed suicide.  I thought or assumed that the local church and its leaders would be there for the family.  They weren't. They abandoned my friend and his family when they needed him the most. I remember thinking at the time, that I needed to pray for the church leaders so they could see the error in their ways, but sadly that prayer was left unanswered.  I however maintained my faith confident that God would look after me and my family, even with dads cancer I thanked God that he let dad continue to live.
